A super quick post and a super grateful THANK YOU to readers of The Santa Cruz Sentinel. For this year’s Reader’s Choice Awards, two new categories were added: Best Annual Event and Best Local Musician.

The Santa Cruz County Fair came in as Best Local Event. And my good pal Alex Lucero grabbed honors for Best Local Musician. Here’s an article I wrote for the paper on both winners.

The kicker? Yours truly came in SECOND PLACE in the Best Local Musician category. The survey was determined completely by write-in votes (no checkboxes or suggestions), which really makes the honor all that more special. I was more than a little shocked, humbled…and happy.

Again, thanks to everyone who took the time to vote, and especially everyone who thought of me and my New Best Friends. In a town as crowded with as many musicians as ours, it’s very much appreciated.
