Me and the band (sans Russ, our harmonica player) were guests on KUSP FM’s “Open Road” last Friday. “Open Road” features an electic mix of Americana, folk, and singer-songwriters and runs Monday-Friday from 11-1 with rotating hosts. Friday was Matt Pierce’s day at the mic.

We had a nice visit with Matt, talked up our upcoming Saturday show at The E3 Playhouse, and then played a few songs:

  • Highway 17, my rant about the wonderful drive between Santa Cruz and San Jose.
  • Spotted Mule, the title track to my CD, Spotted Mule and Other Tales.
  • Where’d the Time Go?, a newer song. I realized that since no one’s written a folk song that mentions punk rock, Days on the Green (remember those, anyone?), or late night movies at the Sashmill Cinema…well, I guess I had to write one.

That’s me on the far left. Aaron Baghchee on lead guitar’s there in the middle. The lovely and talented Greg Scott is playing bass on the right:

If you us missed on the show, you can catch it here. Our piece runs about 15 minutes.
