Me and my New Best Friends had a pretty amazing year. In addition to what became a residency gig at El Vaquero Winery, we played pretty much once (often much more) every weekend. We’re taking a little breather to slowly ramp up 2022, but Eliza James and I (in duo mode) managed to sneak in one last gig. Here’s our set from KSCO’s “Good Morning Monterey Bay” with Rosemary Chalmers, recorded just a few days before New Year’s Eve:

I honestly can’t count how many times Rosie’s had me – or us – on her show. She’s an absolute local treasure and is always incredibly supportive of local music. I didn’t realize she was doing live guests on her show again/yet, but over FB Messenger, I sent her a quick “howdy”. She immediately responded back, “Hey, when are you coming on my show to sing again? Come plug a gig!”

We were out of gigs for the year, but any excuse to hang and chat with Rosie, right? So enjoy…here’s the interview, along with live versions – and some song intros – for my originals, “We’re the Elders Now,” “Welcome Back (to the Land of the Living),” and “Day Drinking Days”.
