It’s hard to describe the feeling when you finish your first CD. It’s exciting. It’s a satisfying rush of closure to a big project. And it’s just a little overwhelming staring at a stack of 1000 discs, all with your picture on them, piled up in the spare room. <\/p>\n


\n\"\"<\/a><\/center><\/p>\n

It’s also a HUGE relief just having the thing done. (No more sleepless nights agonzing over the tracks sequence or the final banjo mix in “High and Lonesome”.) The excitement is still there, don’t get me wrong, particularly since I couldn’t be happier with how this all came together. <\/p>\n

Now it’s onto more important matters, like sleepless nights over how to move 1000 CDs. (It’s actually down to about 950 as of this writing.) <\/p>\n

So what do you do next? You have a party. This weekend (6-10\/11) is two days at Roudon Smith Winery<\/a> in Scotts Valley. It’s their annual Vintner’s Festival, so we’re gonna work the CD-release party in with that. There’ll also be some other songwriters rounding things out – because what’s a party without friends? – so it should be a blast. <\/p>\n

We also found the perfect merchandise to go with a CD called “Spotted Mule and Other Tales”. It’s not a tshirt. It looks like a mule, has spots, but is smaller and eats much less than a real mule. <\/p>\n
