Even better when it generates some local press.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"We&#039;re the Elders Now\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Su7FgnsqrxU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>At the end of last year, Wallace Baine did a very eloquent analysis of <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Su7FgnsqrxU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;We&#8217;re the Elders Now&#8221;<\/a> for <a href=\"https:\/\/lookout.co\/santacruz\/city-life\/story\/2021-12-05\/wallace-baine-music-holidays-michael-gaither-were-the-elders-now\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lookout Santa Cruz<\/a>. More recently, Hugh McCormick of the local Register Pajaronian called me and asked if I&#8217;d like to be the cover story on their monthly <a href=\"https:\/\/issuu.com\/nmcdigital\/docs\/pajaro_valley_magazine_february_25_2022\/s\/16142250\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pajaro Valley Magazine<\/a>.\u00a0<span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.05em;\">Excited and flattered, I had a super cool, long chat with him about my music, our band, and the song itself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/issuu.com\/nmcdigital\/docs\/pajaro_valley_magazine_february_25_2022\/s\/16142250\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8564 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.michaelgaither.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Screen-Shot-2022-07-20-at-8.14.54-AM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"912\" height=\"456\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.michaelgaither.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Screen-Shot-2022-07-20-at-8.14.54-AM.png 912w, https:\/\/www.michaelgaither.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Screen-Shot-2022-07-20-at-8.14.54-AM-300x150.png 300w, https:\/\/www.michaelgaither.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Screen-Shot-2022-07-20-at-8.14.54-AM-768x384.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 912px) 100vw, 912px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Of course, all I noticed is the word ELDER across my photo in large type on the cover&#8230;but that&#8217;s just the title laid out. Heh. The article was also republished as a cover story two weeks ago in Aptos Times.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks again to Hugh, Steve Palopoli over at Good Times (they oversee the other pubs) for all the support!
