Google. It’ll find you. But sometime’s that’s a good thing.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>KSQD<\/a> radio’s Mathilde Rand (along with her producer) does a twice-monthly show called “Exploring Santa Cruz”. She decided to look at “Highway 17” in her broadcast, so she web-searched the topic and found me, my “Highway 17” tune<\/a>, and author Sally Grey (“Jack of All Trades”<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Last Monday, we spent a fun half-hour trading commute horror stories and learning a bit about the history of the windy road that connect Santa Cruz to Silicon Valley. Here’s the entire interview.<\/p>\n

Ironically, the show and interview took place the day after Daylight Savings Time began, which is always a hellacious time to be on the road. (The sun rises late after you leave the house, and it sets right about the time you’re leaving work…which always makes for a wreck or two on the way home.)<\/p>\n

Of course, we’re still in the post-2020 world of light commutes and Zooming In Place. It’ll be interesting to see if that sticks as things continue to open up.<\/p>\n
