He was a guest waaaaaay back in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.michaelgaither.com\/home\/songs_and_stories_25_and_26_dayan_kai_an_1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">episodes #25 and #26<\/a> (with musical pal <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steveuccello.com\/home.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Steve Uccello<\/a>), then dropped in with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/KeithGreeninger\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Keith Greeninger<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.michaelgaither.com\/home\/songs_and_stories_85_and_86_keith_greeni\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">episodes #85 and #86<\/a>, and then we caught up with him in solo mode in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.michaelgaither.com\/home\/songs-stories-129-dayan-kai-resonates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">episodes #129<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.michaelgaither.com\/home\/songs-and-stories-162-dayan-kais-maui-update\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">episode #162<\/a>. Dayan&#8217;s become a really close pal over the years &#8211; even coproducing my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.michaelgaither.com\/home\/music\/#starlite\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;Starlite&#8230;&#8221;<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.michaelgaither.com\/home\/music\/#heykarma\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;Hey Karma&#8221;<\/a> records, and a podcast visit is a good excuse to document a nice long talk, and post it for posterity.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.michaelgaither.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/dayan-and-keith1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-7839 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/www.michaelgaither.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/dayan-and-keith1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>If you don&#8217;t know, Dayan was born in Maui HI but raised locally in San Juan Batista &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/aA5o5hy4N60\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">there&#8217;s even a wonderful song about it<\/a>, of course. The entire project is just Dayan and his guitar, and is (intentionally) a perfect representation of what you&#8217;ll get when you go to a solo Dayan.
