Case in point: My recent sitdown with local songwriter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.miragoto.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mira Goto<\/a>. (Technically, she&#8217;s still local, though these days she&#8217;s splitting her time between Santa Cruz CA and Nashville TN.) As is often the case with these things, Mira and I had a ton of friends in common but somehow had never met in person. &#8220;Songs and Stories&#8221; to the rescue!<\/p>\n<p>Besides being a wickedly talented songwriter and performer, Mira also has a real handle on using social media to spread the word on what she does &#8211; and that&#8217;s what I wanted to focus on (in addition to her music, of course) in this interview. We talk in depth about the usual platforms (<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/miragoto\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/miragotomusic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Instagram<\/a>) and then delve a bit into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pscp.tv\/miragoto\/1zqJVaPddmlGB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Periscope<\/a> (which I&#8217;m starting to use since she and I talked).<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wJyT2XC1HOU\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center><br \/>\nBut of course, all of these tools and apps would not matter if we didn&#8217;t start with great source material, and that&#8217;s the edge that Mira has. Great songs, several awards from West Coast Songwriters, and the well-earned attention from people who are working with her to help her get to the next level.
