I came across an article awhile back that described recent technology evolution in this order: First there was the personal computer. Then came the Internet. Then came Google. <\/p>\n
Think back to the stone ages – like five years ago – before “google” was a verb. Seriously, how many times have you caught yourself saying, “Oh. Wait. Let me google<\/b> that and find out”. <\/p>\n
(I could really carbon date myself and discuss digging up info on the Internet with “gopher” circa 1990, but then my geeky roots would be way too obvious, and this is supposed to be a music site.)<\/p>\n
So. Google. Nowadays, Google seems to have information on everything stored and retrievable just a few clicks away. You can google almost anything. You can even download the nifty Google Earth program and look at satellite photos of your house. Kinda cool. In a scary sorta way. <\/p>\n
It gets better. Google your name sometime. <\/p>\n

In my case, I always thought “Michael Gaither” was fairly unusual. Google set me straight. Little did I know I shared it with bowlers, spelunkers, and a “deliquent parent” somewhere in Illinois.<\/p>\n
My site doesn’t even appear in the top 40 or so links when you search on my name. Need to work on that. Guess I’ll make that a resolution for 2006. <\/p>\n
Note: For the record, I have never been in Indiana, and I look nothing like that guy in the Google picture.<\/p>\n
