We last talked to Brad in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.michaelgaither.com\/home\/archives\/265\" target=\"_blank\">episodes #69 and #67<\/a>. He&#8217;d just finished his &#8220;Lines In the Dirt&#8221; record and was about release &#8220;When I&#8217;m Gone&#8221;. Brad&#8217;s now touring with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paypal.com\/us\/cgi-bin\/webscr?cmd=_flow&#038;SESSION=acIotqPzu1eToDbW3mL7ths4dqCUfpxdhpeOoNUhzUtGCK_gn7A6eI5wqB4&#038;dispatch=50a222a57771920b6a3d7b606239e4d529b525e0b7e69bf0224adecfb0124e9b61f737ba21b08198d8562aa8a3da7ac30bbfba73b3e80dcc\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Tucscon&#8221;<\/a>, his fourth solo release. <\/p>\n<p>For this album, Brad traveled (twice) to Arkansas to work with producer Charlie White, recording most of the record in two, four-day sessions. (One track, &#8220;This Is What I Do,&#8221; was recorded back home in California.) Brad dropped by the house recently to discuss the record and the unique recording process to this project &#8211; recording it in pretty much two focussed sessions, versus piecing a record together over several months.<br \/>\n<center><br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"420\" height=\"236\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7QOEFxllrZI\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\n<\/center><\/p>\n<p>The day I talked to Brad was a few days after a recent show we hosted at the Corralitos Cultural Center Music Series. We were treated to a co-bill from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bevandgreg.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bev Barnett and Greg Newlon<\/a> (who host the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bevandgreg.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Woodshed concert series<\/a>) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.michaelmcnevin.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Michael McNevin<\/a> (who hosts shows at his Mudpuddle shop in Niles CA). Brad is another songwriter who provides other artists with a place to play. Since 2009, he has been running the weekly (yes, every week) <a href=\"http:\/\/wineandsong.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Wine and Song<\/a> series in South Pasadena. <\/p>\n<p>Coincidentally, Michael McNevin has played Brad&#8217;s series. And Brad recorded McNevin&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WywW8MIDSL4\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Hob Thrasher&#8221;<\/a> on the new Tuscon CD. It&#8217;s a very small world.
