I have, but I got caught up the new record &#8211; it&#8217;s finished&#8230;yay!  which took up all of my remaining &#8220;free time&#8221; (heavy on the quotes) for the past several months. But the CD is done, it&#8217;s here on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.michaelgaither.com\" target=\"_blank\">the web site<\/a>, and it&#8217;s time to get back into the podcast routine, at least as regularly as I can muster.<!--more--> <\/p>\n<p>I should have punch cards like at the yogurt shop for regular &#8220;Songs and Stories&#8221; guests. With every ten visits you get&#8230;er&#8230;uhm&#8230;well, probably another visit to &#8220;Songs and Stories&#8221;. This episode is a visit with Chris Kee, who&#8217;s no stranger to this show. He sat around my kitchen table with Travis Jones (of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.houstonjones.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Houston Jones<\/a>) way back in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.michaelgaither.com\/home\/archives\/173\" target=\"_blank\">episodes #31 and #32<\/a>. And I caught up with Chris and *all* of Houston Jones a year or so later in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.michaelgaither.com\/home\/archives\/276\" target=\"_blank\">episode #82<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><center><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thespringhouse.net\/Gallery%20The%20Springhouse\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.michaelgaither.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/springhouse-300x218.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"springhouse\" width=\"300\" height=\"218\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3363\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.michaelgaither.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/springhouse-300x218.png 300w, https:\/\/www.michaelgaither.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/springhouse.png 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<\/center><\/p>\n<p>Chris&#8217; latest project is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thespringhouse.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">Springhouse<\/a>, a trio made up of he, his wife Jane Selkye, and their pal David Phillips (on dobro and pedal steel). While still a very acoustic effort like Houston Jones, Springhouse is a sparse sound. There&#8217;s a bit more room around the instruments (Chris plays stand-up bass and cello) that perfectly back Jane&#8217;s singing, and David&#8217;s playing. <\/p>\n<p>In this episode, you&#8217;ll hear samples of &#8220;Three Crow Town&#8221; and &#8220;In Love Before the Last Call&#8221; off the Springhouse debut, <a href=\"http:\/\/thespringhouse.bandcamp.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Colville&#8221;<\/a>. We&#8217;ll chat about the recording itself, which was done live onto analog tape at Cookie Marenco&#8217;s OTR studios (Cookie was a podcast guest back in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.michaelgaither.com\/home\/archives\/252\" target=\"_blank\">episodes #83 and #84<\/a>).
