Heading north for a couple of very fun shows at the base of the Sierras this Saturday, March 5th. And I’ll be there regardless of rain, sleet, or maybe all the above, depending where the clouds blow around over the next few days. Reminds me of the trip my wife and I once took when we decided to deliver our tent trailer to some very good pals in Sparks, Nevada. Via Highway 50. In the winter. During a snowstorm. And we nearly slid into a semi…who actually would have blocked our fall into a ravine.

You know those “couples moments” when a project gets tense and tempers flare just a tad? Yes. That qualified. But as always, I digress.

KVMR (89.5 FM)
Nevada City

On Saturday afternoon, I’m making another stop into Nevada City and KVMR for a visit with Wesley Robertson on “Rockin’ and Stompin'” at 2:35 pm. Admitted music geeks that we are, we’ll probably yammer about everyone else’s music as much as mine. And that’s half the fun. Tune in locally at 89.5 FM or on the web at kvmr.org.

Evangeline’s Cafe
5 Depot Street, Colfax CA

That evening, I’m back at Evangeline’s Cafe in Colfax. This will be my second trip to this little music oasis, and I’m backed again by Ken Rabiroff on guitar. We had an absolute blast last time we played there. Perfect little venue. Wonderful people. Great food and beverages. The whole package. Show starts at 8:00 pm. $10 door on this one.

A pal of mine up on Sacramento wrote last weekend and said, “there’s a foot of snow in Nevada City today. You’d better bring chains on Friday”. I’m hoping and praying this week’s the warm weather (er…45 degress…warm…heh) has melted that away. I was raised on the coast. Trust me. You do NOT want to see me trying to navigate in the snow. With or without a tent trailer.
