Here’s the first of a two-part interview with Nashville singer/songwriters Brigitte DeMeyer and Will Kimbrough. In this first half, we’ll focus on Brigitte’s new CD, “Savannah Road”.

How this interview came about is pretty interesting: I’ve been a fan of Kimbrough for years (more on that in part two). He made a recent bay area run, I ask about an interview when he was in town, and then I heard he was touring with Brigitte DeMeyer. (I first heard her 15 years ago, before I was doing my own music, when I reviewed her *first* CD “Another Thousand Miles”.)

I’d planned to interview them separately. However, after they arrived, we started talking shop, and it was just too fun to break up this little chat. I hit the record button, and away we went. In this episode, Brigitte talks about working with Will – she cowrote most of this new record with him – and they play “Say You Will Be Mine” live. You’ll also hear clips of the title cut and “Conjure Woman” from the new record.

Note: This was recorded in one of the back offices at KPIG Radio, shortly before Brigitte and Will’s on-air appearances. Big thanks to the station for letting me commandeer one of their rooms.
