In this age of DIY (do-it-yourself) home recording, CD production, and music-career management, many performers are still left scratching their heads as they ask, “Okay, but where do I play?” Besides the obvious route (venues, coffee shops) it’s easy to take that same DIY attitude and create your own gigs – often at places who might not normally host music events such as wineries, nurseries, or just any business that might be a suitable fit for your music. Creating your own gig at a non-venue also helps you promote that local business, who then in turn promotes you by getting you to play in front of folks who might not know your music

In this episode, I talk a little about some local shows I’ve had success at and then play back a recent appearance on KSCO 1080 AM’s “Good Morning Monterey Bay” with Rosemary Chalmers. I was on Rosie’s show to promote shows at two local businesses. This interview also includes live performances of “Tupelo Honey”, “Unsuperpokeable”, and “Highway 17”.
