I always thought the year slowed down around the Fall. This year I’m wrong, but that’s a good thing. Our little band is busier than ever. We have a *lot* of shows this month, and new dates are popping up through the end of the year. What’s particularly cool is that several of our upcoming shows are benefits for local charities, and it’s always nice to be able to help out a cause. Here’s a quick rundown:

  • Saturday 10/7 / 12:00-3:00 pm
Friends of Buena Vista Harvest Party / Corralitos, CA

FoBV is pushing for sensible growth in the semi-rural farmland north of Watsonville. (The city itself has plans for 2500 homes.) This event is a fundraiser with a raffle, silent auction, BBQ dinner, and live music featuring songs about mules and cars. 😉

  • Thursday 10/18 / 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm
Don Quixote’s Music Hall / Felton, CA

This is a co-bill with Cooper Street. Tickets are $8.00 in advance, and you can pick them up at Don Q’s or buy them directly from me. All proceeds from our share of the ticket sales go to Felton Library Friends. (Yay books!)

  • Sunday 11/4 / 12:00 – 4:00 pm
November-fest at Pacific Apiary Farms / Watsonville, CA

Besides an afternoon of music, wine, honey, and crafts, there will be a raffle with all proceeds going to Jacob’s Heart.

  • Saturday 12/1 / time TBD
Corralitos Festival of Lights / Corralitos, CA

This is an annual day of arts, crafts, and music out in the little country burg of Corralitos. It’s also a benefit for the Corralitos Cultural Center, which provides art classes and maintains a library in Corralitos. Dallas Dobro is MC’ing the music for the event. We play two sets: 10:30 am and 4:00 pm.

Besides these four gigs, you can also see us at the usual haunts (the monthly Wooden Nickel Open Mic, Roudon-Smith Winery’s Post-Harvest Celebration) and at some newer spots like Monterey’s East Village Coffee Lounge. Check out my Shows page for complete info. We’d love to see ya sometime soon.
